This'll be good for both of us I know it Thank you Doctor - You're welcome I had my reservations about Salama seeing a counsellor but this has been very helpful I'm glad to have helped I really do love you Salama We'll be happy there, I promise She meant in my way Look, it's a good job opportunity for me and the change will help us forget what happened Forget I don't mean forget I just mean start again How can you reject a request from the man you love? He knows how this will make you stronger.įor a year you've been telling me to move on and now you're telling me to go back? Salama, I know you're reluctant to do this Khalid needs to be close to his family. To be near family again I think it's the right thing to do What about my job? I think it would be good for Salama, for both of us. I've been thinking about family a lot recently And I feel it would be good for Salama If we went back to the Yemen I don't want to go back We've talked about this The company I work for has offered me a job in the U.A.E. Khalis never knew his parents They d*ed when he was very young or helps us forgive ourselves More than family I agree Salama's family's very close She and her sister are best friends They're also 7,000 miles away How about Khalid's family? Sudden Infant Death Syndrome is far more common than you might imagine And I'm worried She doesn't eat She sleeps all the time We hardly talk She thinks she's to blame but it's not your fault, Salama You must see that Grief can lead to depression Even to guilt But life must go on Kahalid's right I think I'm to blame because I am to blame There's nothing more painful than the loss of a child It's been a year. Djinn Allah has separated Man from Djinn But sometimes, their worlds come together, and this always causes great suffering There are some good ideas here, but when I see a computer generated spirit crawling on the ceiling, I don't get scared. When Allah created the heavens and the earth, he created Humans from clay and Angels from light But he created another being from f*re.

Djinn is no different than any other film on there and I would only recommend it if you are on a Hooper movie marathon. Tobe Hooper doesn't make his presence known at all in this film. I wasn't expecting much, but I at least thought it could be interesting. Overall, without posting any spoilers, (I try not to in each and every review I post) this film is a letdown. It was a pretty big letdown, but after seeing how everything else was executed in this film, I wasn't shocked. We get some shots of it close up and you get to see this good looking practical effects face. There is a pretty good looking spirit in this film and it's CGI more than half the time. The story is pretty bland and typical, but the thing that gets me is the execution. There are no performances that will win Oscars, but for a horror film it's more than decent. It's 10 minutes in and I am already confused. The following scene goes back to the couple arriving in the new country. It's obvious the scene is there to set up the ghost backstory, but it just didn't make sense. They are new characters that we never see again. The scene after that goes directly to the desert and feels like it should have taken place before the opening scene.

It gives us the location of the film and does a good job setting up the plot. For example, the first scene establishes our main characters in a counseling office. The acting and story are fine, but some of the editing is questionable. It has the typical, "house built on an ancient cemetery" setting just with a little twist.

It's not that I completely hated Djinn, but it just didn't stand out at all. His latest film is "Djinn" (2013) and after watching this, it seems the title "master of horror" will only be used to describe his 70's and 80's work.

He directed some TV shows and direct-to-video films for a while before releasing "Toolbox Murders" in 2004. Hooper could do no wrong, but then the 90's happened and his films started to take a dive.
