I have sunk as many hours into this game as I have precisely because I do find it to be fun.
Their line about being highly addictive is over-selling it, but there is a satisfaction in growing your army and beating more powerful enemies that had previously blocked your way. While Lies of Astaroth is an unpolished and incomplete game with many, many flaws, which is being promoted by lying marketers and has a customer support team of idiots, it is also strangely fun. Card battling is fun, if unstrategic and highly RNG dependant. The lack of professionalism from top to bottom is stunning.

There is a language barrier here, clearly, yet the development team has elected not to hire a professional translator for their game. They call this event "Clearing all obstades". the very first event is one which awards you in-game currency for completing levels.

The game has also suffered from woeful customer support and public relations from the development team and the constant display of news and feature updates is full of atrocious spelling and grammar errors. The game feels unfinished, not just because the port of the mobile game doesn't have all of the features of the mobile game and lacks significant content. There were also a host of technical and graphical bugs that plagued the game on launch, though those were quickly fixed. It is quite likely that new content when it finally arrives will bring with it many new bugs and problems, even as it solves some of the game’s more significant problems. Some of these have been fixed, or at least improved as the developers work to improve the content, but many remain. The differential in power rarity between cards in the same star-level might be a bug, rather than a poor design feature. As expected, bugs in the player’s favor get resolved faster. Certain cards have been bugged at various points, including an epic bug which resulted in a super-powerful card.

The Daily Login (a series of six for up to 30 days in a row) achievements are bugged. The most notable bugs are that the 200 and 300 unique cards in your collection achievements are unobtainable due to design failure.
The game does increase in strategic depth near the end of the “story”, but this is in large part due to the overwhelming power of the enemy requiring tactical play from the player, or from additional restrictions placed on your deckbuilding. Playing your cards in the right order only matters on the margin-a very rare place in the game.
The best strategy is almost always to put your best and highest level cards into a deck, regardless of any synergy they have and then go to battle, where your strategic choices are limited to play the card now or play it later. The choice lies almost entirely in deckbuilding, and that is severely hampered by the limitations in the collection phase. Early on the combat mechanics are woefully simple. The art itself isn't bad and the tastelessness aside, the style works for the genre. Each just seems an opportunity to put another busty woman-creature on display. The artwork is not particularly evocative of the things the cards do or are. Not all of the cards suffer from this, but a large portion do, including almost all of the promotional artwork, and the thing that makes it all truly cheesecake is that there is no reason for it. For those who might be unfamiliar with the term cheesecake, what I refer to here is the sexualization of imagery only for the purpose of sexualization, but done lightly.
It's designed to appeal to a juvenile audience with titillation and no substance. Astaroth Lies! I'll start with the most obvious, much of the artwork is the most blatant of cheesecake.
