The shrimp was just a vege shrimp in a dumpling wrapper and was as bland and unimaginative as could be. We tried two types: the shrimp and spinach. The biggest disappointment was definitely the dim sum. and the smallest soup was almost 6 bucks. While the flavor of the Hot and Sour soup was excellent, the soup itself was thoroughly displeasing as it was just a huge bowl of broth with no content except for crumb sized pieces of silken tofu in it. I would still highly recommend both, they just didn't quite live up to expectations. The curry tofu (order it fried!) had a great sauce and was still the best tofu dish I've eaten in 34 years as a vegetarian, but the tofu was not cooked as well and lacked any crunch and there were less veggies in it. The Iron steak which is made out of deep fried yams with a tangy/unbelievable Chinese BBQ sauce, was still amazing, but the flavor of the sauce was slightly off and instead of the Al Dente Broccoli which always came with it, it came with bok choy, which does not go nearly as well with the tenderness of the "Iron Steak" or the powerful flavor of the sauce. The "Steak kew" Gluten and Duck appetizers were as spectacular as ever and the hot and sweet steak Kews are probably still my favorite foods in the world. We ate there twice and both times we were disappointed. 2 weeks ago it closed for good and had a sign on the door directing us us to the Vegetarian Dim Sum house instead. St, which was my FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD. You will not be disappointed! They close at 6pm.This place is owned by the same people who owned "House of Vegetarian" on Mott. Let me tell you, I ate 2 on our 10 minutes drive home! Please try them next time you go there. The sauce in the filling is tasty!!! The only problem is they are sold in a bag of 6, you can't just buy one. Boy! They are out of this world!!!!! Chicken filling with LOTS of mushrooms. On the last day of our visit, I asked the owner whether they have chicken buns - they do make them!!! They are not made everyday since not too many people know enough to ask about them. Everybody loves their baked or steamed BBQ pork buns. Like the Har-Gow (shrimp dumpling), they use pretty good-sized whole shrimp instead of chopped-up shrimp paste. We tried out everything displayed in the window and love them all. My husband and I were visiting our son who lives in Fresno, and came across this bakery. Who would think Fresno would have a very decent Chinese Bakery? Trust me! I lived in New York, San Francisco, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles.

And there's plenty of parking for your takeout, so stop by for some delish dim sum & pork! =)~ Highly Recommended: Roasted & BBQ Pork, Onion Bun, Egg Tart, Sweet Rice Cake, Rice Noodle Rolls. Typical of Chinese establishments, this is a cash-only bakery & their prices are cheap & modest, depending on your order. They've been known to sell out, especially the pork during Chinese holidays. =( Come early to avoid the lines & the bakery running out of your favs. (sigh) Now they have to settled for a replacement that's not as satisfying. My nieces & nephews loved their sponge cake filled & decorated with strawberries, mangoes, & kiwis for their birthday celebrations. The delectable roasted pork is quite tender & juicy with a flavorful crust, & the BBQ pork is quite sweet, savory, & smoky these meats are purchased by weight & we usually get several pounds of both! Under new ownership, Bakery Delights no longer bakes birthday cakes. My husband & kiddos love the pineapple bun (there's no pineapple) for the sugar cookie crust & soft doughy bun, & egg custard for the pastel de nata & flaky crust.

My sibling prefers the shrimp version & eats several plates to satisfy his cravings of this favorite dish. so soft & savory with dried shredded pork! And best of all, it's cheap (for a buck & change)! The rice rolls, served with a simple soy sauce, are plentiful & about double the portion of what you get for dim sum. And it's one of the best authentic Chinese bakeries in town! The unassuming bakery produces some of the best ROASTED & BBQ PORK, baked goods (especially the ONION BUN, EGG TART, PINEAPPLE BUN ), & dim sum (RICE NOODLE ROLL WITH BEEF, RICE NOODLE ROLL WITH SHRIMP, SWEET RICE CAKE ). Located on the corner of Herndon & Cedar Avenues in a non-descript plaza, Bakery Delights has been a family staple for dim sum & roasted pork for years.
